California fugitive arrested in Valley

Corey Andrew Dearing Sr., wanted in California on charges of conspiracy to commit murder, was arrested Sunday morning in Spokane Valley. Dearing was taken without incident, according to the Coeur d’Alene Police Department, which got a tip on Dearing’s location after local media issued alerts regarding his presence in the area. He was taken into custody at the Maple Tree Motel, 4824 E. Sprague, and is being held in the Spokane Public Safety Building. The department said the Pacific Northwest and Idaho violent crime task forces, Spokane Violent Gang Enforcement Team, and the Spokane Valley Police Department participated in the investigation that led to the arrest of Dearing on a warrant issued by Riverside County, Calif. Dearing, 52, has ties to a white supremacy group, and was reportedly visiting family in Kootenai County.
