Obituary: Pratt, Kathryn Ann (Moisan)
Age 73
We mourn the loss of our beloved Kathryn - wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
Born in Portland, Oregon on March 3, 1940, Kathryn Moisan graduated from St. Mary’s Academy and moved to Seattle where she worked for Pacific North West Bell.
Kathryn was very active in the Saint Bernadette Parish.
After her marriage to Donald Pratt, they lived on Bainbridge Island, WA until their retirement from US West in 1992.
The panhandle of Idaho never knew what hit it!
Kathryn, Don, their seven children April, Alex and Patti Ebert; Kim, Davis, Jana and Mark Pratt and 17 grandchildren all enjoyed the beauty and relaxing splendor of Priest Lake — and everyone got Priest Lake tee-shirts!
In 1992, Kathryn and Don began building their dream home on the lake.
It has since been the site of numerous family gatherings.
With Kathryn, everyone was family — so their home hosted many events and parties - from informal, last minute get-togethers to formal teas and dinners won at Lions Club auctions.
Kathryn was inclusive and involved — at Priest Lake she was active in Bonner Community Hospice, Kaniksu Lions Club, St. Blanche Catholic Church groups, Priest Lake Library, Priest Lake Museum, Priest Lake book group and the weekly mahjong sessions often held at her house, to name a few.
She helped found the Phyllis Low music scholarship.
An avid (and some would say, outspoken) Democrat, she did not shrink from open, informed discussions on politics and world events.
She had numerous loves — art, literature, music, roses, autumn, the lake, her husband Don, her family and friends.
In return, she was loved by many.
Kathryn’s passing leaves a void that we and the community will never fill.
Kathryn’s funeral mass will be held at St. Blanche Catholic Church in Priest Lake, ID on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 11 am.
The mass will be celebrated by Father Larry Gooley, SJ, former pastor of the parish.
