Fire lieutenant’s complaint misstated
A Spokane Fire Department lieutenant filed a formal complaint against Kevin Smathers for an alleged weapons violation unrelated to his keeping brass knuckles in a city vehicle and storing city-issued guns in a personal safe. An Oct. 10 story incorrectly identified the nature of the lieutenant’s complaint against Smathers, who was terminated as a fire department captain.
