Eat your beer
There’s still time to get in on a couple of tasty-sounding beer dinners happening this week.
On Tuesday, Rock City Grill welcomes River City for a four-course meal starting at 6 p.m.
The menu includes pan-fried crab cakes paired with Inconceivable Imperial Pilsner; a tossed green salad in an edible Parmesan phyllo cup with Riverkeeper IPA; New York peppercorn steak with River City Red; and tiramisu with Vanilla Bourbon Stout.

And on Wednesday, Saranac Public House is featuring five local breweries in a pairing dinner at 6 p.m. Courses include:
- Organic spring asparagus battered in semolina tempura with herbed goat cheese, accompanied by
Selkirk Abbey
’s Chapel witbier.
- Calamari-stuffed, house-made Italian sausage with romesco sauce, toasted walnuts and scallions, and No-Li Amber.
- Roasted golden beet salad with shaved fennel, orange, arugula and citrus vinaigrette, and Perry Street Kolsch.
- Jerked pork tenderloin with red beans and coconut rice, paired with Iron Goat ’s Head Butt IPA.
- German chocolate cake with toasted coconut, pecan frosting and chocolate sauce, with neighboring
Black Label
’s Espresso Stout on nitro.
