In brief: Mo Williams scores 52 as Timberwolves end losing skid

NBA: Mo Williams scored a career-high 52 points, most in the NBA this season, and visiting Minnesota snapped a 15-game losing streak with a 110-101 victory over Indiana on Tuesday night.

Williams made six 3-pointers, including one that gave Minnesota a 102-96 lead.

James scores 33 in Cavs’ loss: LeBron James scored 33 points in his return from a two-week layoff but it wasn’t enough to prevent Cleveland from going down to its sixth straight loss, 107-100 at Phoenix.

Wall sparks Washington win: John Wall broke yet another personal 0-for-forever streak, this one against an entire team, scoring 25 points with eight assists in Washington’s 101-93 win over San Antonio that gave him his first taste of success against the reigning NBA champs.

Curry scores 27 for Warriors: Stephen Curry scored 27 points and ignited a decisive third-quarter run to lead Golden State to a 116-105 victory over Utah at Salt Lake City.

Miami snaps Duke’s 41-game home streak

College men: Angel Rodriguez scored 24 points and Miami (12-4, 2-1 ACC) shot 67 percent after halftime to upset No. 4 Duke (14-2, 2-2) 90-74 on Tuesday night, snapping the Blue Devils’ 41-game home winning streak at Durham, North Carolina.

No. 1 Kentucky routs Missouri: Aaron Harrison scored 16 points including five 3-pointers, and top-ranked Kentucky (16-0, 3-0 SEC) finally earned a conference victory in regulation by drilling Missouri (7-9, 1-2) 86-37 at Lexington, Kentucky..

Kansas whips Oklahoma State: Frank Mason III had 16 points and nine rebounds, Kelly Oubre Jr. added 14 points and ninth-ranked Kansas (14-2, 3-0 Big 12) beat No. 24 Oklahoma State (12-4, 2-2) 67-57 at Lawrence, Kansas. .

Tennessee upsets No. 19 Arkansas: Josh Richardson scored 20 points and Tennessee (10-5, 2-1 SEC) withstood a furious Arkansas (13-3, 2-1) comeback to hang on for a 74-69 victory over the 19th-ranked Razorbacks at Knoxville, Tennessee.

West Virginia rolls Oklahoma: Jevon Carter scored 18 points and No. 16 West Virginia (15-2, 3-1 Big 12) got its strongest performance of the season from its bench to beat No. 18 Oklahoma (11-5, 2-2) 86-65 at Morgantown, West Virginia.

Busch: Ex-wife was trained assassin

Courts: The NASCAR driver known as “The Outlaw” testified he believes his ex-girlfriend is a trained assassin dispatched on covert missions around the world who once returned to him in a blood-splattered gown.

“Everybody on the outside can tell me I’m crazy, but I lived on the inside and saw it firsthand,” Kurt Busch said when his attorney questioned why he still believed Patricia Driscoll is a hired killer.

Driscoll called Busch’s assertion “ludicrous.”

Busch, appearing in a Dover, Delaware, court over Driscoll’s request for a no-contact order, continued the push of his legal team to discredit his ex as a scorned woman.

Rape trial opens: A prosecutor told jurors in Nashville, Tennessee, that a group of former Vanderbilt football players ruined the life of a promising young neuroscience student when they raped her in a dorm in January 2013.

In opening statements, Deputy District Attorney General Tom Thurman told jurors that the four former players giggled, shot video and sent text messages while they sexually abused her in an assault that began in a hallway. He described in sometimes explicit language how one former player assaulted her with a water bottle while a teammate egged him on. The prosecutor said one of the players passed out condoms and assaulted her.

All have pleaded not guilty.

Sharper to face charges: California authorities have been ordered to turn former NFL All-Pro safety Darren Sharper over to U.S. Marshals in New Orleans, where he faces state and federal charges that he drugged women so he could sexually assault them.

Blues down Oilers for fifth straight win

NHL: Vladimir Tarasenko scored his 24th goal and had an assist, defenseman Barret Jackman earned his second two-point night of the season, and hot St. Louis beat Edmonton 4-2 for its fifth straight victory.
