No-Li goes bronze down under

No-Li Brewhouse was back in the winner’s circle at yet another international beer competition.

Spokane’s largest brewery won bronze medals for its Mosh Pit tart cherry ale and Rise & Grind oatmeal/coffee/milk stout at the 2015 Australian International Beer Awards .

Those are its 15th and 16th overseas honors, following previous medals in Australia as well as Germany, Belgium and Japan. Entries are coordinated through the Denver-based Brewers Association .

Closer to home, No-Li is the featured brewery for June at Nectar Wine and Beer in Kendall Yards, with six offerings on tap: the new seasonal Brass Monkey golden strong ale with orange peel; Oyster Stout, brewed with fresh Puget Sound shellfish; Poser session pale and Crony session brown, plus old standbys Spin Cycle Red and Born & Raised IPA.

Brewery representatives will be on hand for an event Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m., featuring a 4-ounce flight of all six beers plus cheese and snacks for $10.

Twofer Wednesday: If you can’t wait until Thursday for your fix, a couple of other happenings are taking place tomorrow.

Daft Badger in Coeur d’Alene will tap the second in its weekly Wednesday small-batch series, a crisp, clean American Wheat Beer (6.4 percent alcohol by volume, 35 International Bitterness Units). There are only 5 gallons, so it could go fast.

And the crew from Big Barn in Green Bluff will be at The Hop Shop on Spokane’s South Hill for a tap takeover starting at 4 p.m.
