Here’s a quick look at what’s happening this week in local beer:

– Wednesday’s weekly Year of the Goat release at Iron Goat is Shin Kicker India session ale (formerly known as Lawnmower), hopped with Centennial and Mosaic (4.8 percent alcohol by volume, 46 International Bitterness Units).

– Daft Badger in Coeur d’Alene continues its new Wednesday small-batch series with an American wheat beer infused with real huckleberries.

– Pullman’s Paradise Creek is featured in a Meet Your Maker brewer’s night Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Area 51 Taphouse at the North Side Onion Bar & Grill.

– Republic Pi hosts an Epic Brewing pint night Thursday starting at 5, featuring a firkin (rumored to be Escape to Colorado IPA with whole leaf Citra hops and mango) plus selections from the Salt Lake City brewery’s Belgian-inspired Brainless series.

– Waddell’s is taking three of its beers to the North Spokane Growler Guys for a meet-the-brewers tasting Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., including Vienna Lager, Alligator Stout and the recently released Barrel Rider Shattered Glass Imperial IPA aged in Dry Fly whiskey barrels.

– Downdraft is hosting an outdoor beer garden as part of a daylong celebration Saturday with its neighbors in the Treaty Rock business park in Post Falls. Look for an outdoor Zumba fitness class at 10 a.m., dogs from Nick’s Shameless Sausages and live music by The Rhythm Dawgs starting at 6.
