Obituary: Mac Donald, Joyce Elaine

Age 79

MAC DONALD, Joyce Elaine (Age 79) Joyce went to be with the Lord on February 19, 2015.

Joyce, the third of four children, was born to Joseph and Lillias (Cunningham) Griffith on November 9, 1935 in Spokane.

She was raised in Deep Creek, WA where she attended elementary school in a two-room school house.

She graduated from Medical Lake High School in 1953.

Joyce was a drum major for the school band and a past Honored Queen of Job’s Daughters.

She married Kenneth Mac Donald on July 9, 1955 and settled in Spokane Valley, where they raised two children, Doug and Kendy.

Joyce worked at Super Save Drugs for 28 years as a pharmacy tech and also served as a Sunday school teacher at Berean Bible Church for 25 years.

Joyce reveled in her role as “Grandma” and doted on her five grandchildren.

She often wore a t-shirt that stated if she had known grandchildren were so much fun, she would have had them first.

Surviving her are her husband Ken; her children Doug (Rafaela Ortiz) Mac Donald and Kendy (Stan) Pulsipher; her grandchildren Stephen (Jackie) and Sarah Mac Donald and Courtney, Krista, and Katie Stokes; her sister Jo Klein and brother Leonard (Irene) Griffith; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joyce is predeceased by her parents and sister Nancy Rice.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Berean Bible Church, 10910 E. Boone, Spokane Valley, WA.
