Grab a Grabber

You don’t have to travel to Pullman to cool off with a Grabber ice cream sandwich.

The Washington State Connections store in downtown Spokane carries the popular frozen treat, handmade by student employees of Washington State University’s Ferdinand’s Ice Cream Shoppe in Pullman.

Grabbers cost $3.50 and have been in stock at the Spokane store for about a month. Available flavors in Spokane are: vanilla, chocolate-peanut butter and huckleberry.

Italian food fundraiser

The fifth annual Ferrante’s Adopt-A-Room Fundraiser takes place today and Thursday to support Ronald McDonald House Charities of Spokane.

Profits from both days will support the organization’s Adopt-A-Room program. This includes dine-in orders, take-out orders and gift shop items.

Ferrante’s is an Italian café specializing in salads, paninis, pasta, pizza, calzones and gelato. It’s located at 4516 S. Regal St.

Ronald McDonald House provides a home away from home for out-of-town families with children receiving medical treatment in Spokane.

Cold-brew class

Roast House is offering a cold-brew coffee class Saturday.

Baristas will explain how to brew using several methods including espresso, flash and cold brewing. On the menu are the classic iced americano and shakerato, a frothy, cold espresso drink.

The class costs $20 – the price includes a 1-pound bag of coffee – and starts at 10 a.m. Reserve a spot by calling (509) 995-6500. Roast House is located at 423 E. Cleveland Ave.
