Obituary: Milner, James L.

MILNER, James L. July 11, 1931- November 16, 2015 James Logan Milner went home to his Lord and Savior on November 16, 2015.

Jim was born in Seattle, WA and raised in Almira, WA by his adoptive parents Jessie and John L. Milner.

He graduated from Eastern Washington University and spent two years abroad a U.S. Navy attack transport ship during the Korean War.

On April 22, 1956, he married Barbara J. Alberg who he had met in college and began a 30- year teaching career that fall.

Jim taught and coached in several Spokane schools and spent his last 17 years at Glover Middle School teaching and coaching boys’ baseball.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; son Jeffrey (Jeanie) Milner; daughter, Julie Rohner and daughter Diana (James) Thompson, Ridgecrest, CA; a brother, William Schwartzwalter, Kennewick, WA.

He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Logan (Anna) Milner, Janelle (Justin) Lawless, Josiah (Crystal) Milner, Jacob Milner, Ashley and Brad Rohner, Spokane.

Megan, Brian, and Kevin Thompson, Ridgecrest, CA.

Four great-grandsons: Aiden, Conner, Gideon, and Andrew Milner.

Jim loved serving the Lord at his church and was blessed by so many caring and loving friends and neighbors.

A visitation will be Friday, November 20, 2015, from 2-5PM.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 21, 2015, 2:00PM at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 2733 W. Blvd.
