Your weekly roundup
Some random notes from the past week in local craft beer:
– Selkirk Abbey on Tuesday took possession of three new 30-barrel fermenters. The increased production will allow the Belgian-themed Post Falls brewery to expand distribution into Utah – where sister brewery Laughing Dog is just starting to sell beer – and eventually other Southwestern states.
– A brewpub could be coming to Kendall Yards. Dino and Laree Dominguez filed for a state microbrewery license for Kendall Yards Brewing, which they intend as part of a theater complex planned for a year from now in the downtown development north of the Spokane River.
– Tickets are on sale for the upcoming Food Truck, Blues & Brews Festival on Sept. 27 at the Steam Plant, to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Inland Northwest. Look for beers from Black Label, New Boundary and Perry Street and ciders from Liberty along with the house offerings, plus nine food trucks and a pair of bands.
– On the growler front, in addition to the grand opening of Steady Flow this weekend, Bottles in Spokane Valley has upped its tap count from 14 to 18, while Budge Brothers is offering $5 fills of all beers all month for “Budgetember.”
