Tart and tasty

The Lantern Tap House is pouring some sour beers this weekend to go along with some sweet tunes.

The second annual Sours ‘N September runs Friday through Sunday in conjunction with the Perry Street Shakedown music festival, featuring a rotating selection of 18 sours from breweries local, regional and beyond.

Here’s what to look for, and when (while supplies last, anyway):

– River City’s new TW Frankensour, a hoppy, barrel-aged ale/lager hybrid spiked with naturally soured 1997-vintage huckleberry ale from predecessor Coeur d’Alene Brewing (5.4 percent alcohol by volume, available Friday only; will go on tap at River City on Friday the 18th).

– Iron Goat’s Blackberry Apricot Sour (6.5, Friday).

– Sockeye Sour Puss apricot (6, Friday).

– Firestone’s wild, barrel-aged Opal saison (6.8, Friday).

– Double Mountain Peche Mode peach (8.6, Friday-Saturday), Devil’s Kriek Flanders-style red with cherries (9.3, Saturday-Sunday) and Tahoma Kriek Brett with Rainier cherries (10.3, Saturday-Sunday).

– New Belgium Eric’s Ale barrel-aged peach (7, Friday-Sunday) and Hop Tart hoppy American sour (5, Sunday only).

– Timmerman’s Bourgogne des Flandres Brune brown (5, Friday-Saturday).

– Grand Teton’s oak-aged American Sour (8, Saturday-Sunday) and Sour Grand Saison (7.5, Sunday).

– Liefman’s Cuvee-Brut blended with cherries (6, Saturday-Sunday).

– Paradise Creek Huckleberry Pucker Berliner weisse (5.5, Sunday).

– Oakshire’s Frederic C. Noir saison, brewed with green tea and aged in Pinot Noir barrels with Brett (6.2, Sunday).

– No-Li’s Re-Fresh Tart Pale Ale (4.5), a Berliner weisse-influenced collaboration with Seattle’s Latona Pub, will be on tap all three days, as will its regular Poser pale and Empire 8 session IPA for those with less tart tastes.

Those will all be in the Lantern’s outdoor event tent, Friday from 4 to 10 p.m., Saturday from noon to 10 and Sunday from noon to 8. You can get 4-ounce tastes for $2, and 10-ounce pours for $4.

Lindeman’s Framboise raspberry lambic (Friday-Saturday) and Peche peach lambic (Sunday) also will be pouring inside at the bar, with food specials in the dining room.

Music-wise, the Lantern will host Cathedral Pearls on Saturday and the Hoot Hoots on Sunday, both at 10 p.m. Those are icing on the cake for the music all weekend on the Shakedown’s outdoor stage across the street at South Perry Pizza, headlined by Sir Mix-A-Lot on Saturday; there’s a $3 cover for the separate beer garden there.
