Your weekend roundup
A few more imbibing options heading into the warm weekend:
– The grand opening celebration continues Saturday at Steady Flow Growler House in Spokane Valley with a five-tap takeover by Green Bluff’s Big Barn Brewing. Free (unfilled) glass growlers will be given away to the first 200 customers starting at 11 a.m., with a Big Barn rep on hand from 2 to 5 along with a live radio broadcast.
And in memory of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, veteran-owned Steady Flow today is extending its regular Monday discount for active and retired military/police/firefighters.
– Orlison’s new downtown Spokane tasting room will open for NFL football Sundays starting this weekend, from 11 a.m. until at least 9.
– Hopped Up’s third annual Art, Music and Beer festival, originally scheduled for Aug. 22 but postponed because of air quality issues, returns on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Along with the libations, look for artist displays, craft vendors and live music on the hour starting at 1.
– One Tree Hard Cider is joining in the hard root beer trend with a test batch of its own. Sample it at the tasting room Friday from 3 to 6 and Saturday from noon to 5, as supplies last; if the feedback is positive, full-scale production will begin for later this fall.
