– Hopworks Urban Brewery and New Belgium will tap their new collaborative B-Side EP extended peach sour in an event tonight from 6 to 9 at Republic Pi.

UPDATE WEDNESDAY 9/23

– Today’s releases are Iron Goat’s first fresh hop beer of the season, a Simcoe Citra IPA (6.5 percent alcohol by volume), and a small-batch India brown ale, also brewed with Simcoe and Citra hops, at Daft Badger in Coeur d’Alene.

- Big Barn on Green Bluff continues its hop harvest Saturday starting at 10 a.m., with chili and baked potatoes for pickers (and free beer if you pick enough).

A look at the upcoming week in local craft beer:

– The revived Inland Northwest Girls Pint Out group will hold an initial meet-and-greet Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Perry Street Brewing.

– Perry Street hosts its second annual Oktoberfest on Thursday and Friday with three beers geared to the occasion – kolsch, marzen and doppelbock – and a German-style menu by the Couple of Chefs food truck. While supplies last, 32-ounce steins are available for advance purchase that get you premium fills for the event and on Wednesdays through October.

– Trickster’s in Coeur d’Alene is having a release party for its first two fresh hop beers of the season – the Citra-forward Hoppit and Simcoe-forward Hop Box – on Thursday starting at 5 p.m., with $1 off regular pint prices.

– Black Label beers will pour for free Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. on the rooftop of the Saranac Building downtown during an informational party by The Lands Council, along with free food and live music.

– Beverly’s restaurant at The Coeur d’Alene Resort is serving five-course brewer’s dinners featuring Daft Badger on Friday and Selkirk Abbey on Saturday. Both start with receptions at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30; the cost is $65 each.

– The annual Valleyfest celebration on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the CenterPlace Regional Event Center will serve local beers for the first time, from Valley brewers English Setter and Hopped Up.

– Crafted in Coeur d’Alene observes Octoberfest on Saturday with live music, German food and seasonal beers.

– MickDuff’s Hoptoberfest on Saturday at the Beer Hall in Sandpoint will include the debut of its fresh hop Simcoe IPA, with oak-aged Mashing Pumpkin and Marzen and a limited-release Vanilla Imperial Bourbon Stout also on tap. There will be live music from 2 to 9 p.m. along with games.

– The Steam Plant’s Food Trucks, Blues & Brews Festival on Sunday from noon to 7 p.m. features nine food trucks, two bands and guest beers from Black Label, New Boundary and Perry Street along with Liberty cider. Tickets are $25 for adults (includes food samples from each truck and two drink tokens), and $17.50 for ages 13-20 and $10 for 12 and under (food only), plus fees; a portion of proceeds benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters.
