Obituary: Prescott, Gene

Age 75

PRESCOTT, Gene

Gone Fishing!

On April 28th, 2016, Gene Prescott left this Earth to join his fishing buddies in Heaven.

After his family, he was most happy with a fishing pole in his hand.

He was born in Tacoma, WA to Lester and Alice Prescott on December 23, 1940, sharing his birthday with his wife Betty, (she was 12 hours older) and his late father-in-law.

Gene graduated in 1959 from Stadium High School in Tacoma.

He worked for Washington Hardware and Sporting Goods.

In 1972, he managed Sporting Goods in Anchorage, Alaska, where he made many long lasting friends.

He loved the great outdoors, especially fishing and hunting.

In 1980, the family moved back to Tacoma.

He later worked construction.

Gene is survived by a sister Betty Hawkins (Dick) of Gig Harbor, WA, wife Betty of 50 years of Spokane Valley, his children Steve Prescott (Dotty), grandchildren Kaydi, and Cooper of Cathlamet, WA, grandson Cole (Lexie) and great-granddaughter Kylee of Warrenton, OR, Craig Prescott (Billie) of Tacoma, and Jennifer Carter (Darrin) and grandson Ryan of Spokane Valley.

A special thank you to Royal Park Nursing Home in Spokane and Dr. Jeffery Trail and staff at Northside Family.

There will be a gathering on May 21st at the family home in Spokane Valley and on June 11th at Point Defiance Park (Ft. Nisqually) Tacoma.
