Craft Beer Week: Thursday

Four days in, Spokane (and American ) Craft Beer Week shows no signs of slowing down. Here’s a look at what’s on today’s docket (keep checking back for late-breaking updates):

Twelve String welcomes six of its local colleagues from noon to 10 for Guest Brewery Night, with a tap lineup including No-Li’s Copper Donkey aged in Dry Fly wheat whiskey barrels; Orlison’s Roast House Stout aged in Irish whiskey barrels; Perry Street’s wine barrel-aged Chardonnay Tripel; River City’s Midnight Marmot imperial stout conditioned over raspberries and French oak chips; Trickster’s tart Berliner Weisse (with raspberry syrup) and Waddell’s Strong Peach Sour.

Hopped Up taps a spiced rum-barrel aged strong ale when it opens at 3, along with a sour aged for eight months; all week, get $8 growler fills of regular beers with the purchase of a pint.

– Orlison’s Barrel Aged Beer Night from 5 to 9 features 2 Finger Pour from Old Forester bourbon barrels, Toasted Dragon from 3 Howls gin barrels and Roast House Stout from 3 Howls hopped whiskey barrels.

Badass Backyard Brewing , which normally operates only on Saturdays, will be open from 4 to 8 and pouring its Palouse SMaSH collaboration with Black Label, made with locally produced Palouse Pint malt.

– Bellwether has a Meet the Owners Night from 5 to 8, with tours at 5 and 7 and special guest Joel Williamson from Palouse Pint, and also launches its Brewers Showdown homebrewers’ contest, which continues through Saturday; buy a flight and vote for your favorite among the five entrants.

– Sorry, the Perry Street brewers’ dinner at Durkin’s Liquor Bar is sold out.

– Everyone is invited by the Brewers Association to participate in a nationwide toast at 5 p.m. in honor of American Craft Beer Week.

– An Iron Goat pint night runs from 5 to 8 at the Flying Goat , while a special beer-themed trivia night starts at 6:30 in the Iron Goat taproom.

– Coeur d’Alene’s Filling Station on 5th brings in Montana’s Madison River Brewing for a tasting from 5 to 7 including Golden Willie cream ale, River Hopper pale, River Dropper IPA and The Juice double IPA, with $8 growler fills of each.

– The Lantern Tap House hosts a No-Li night featuring the Big Juicy and Komrade imperial IPAs, plus a kettle sour, from 6 to 8 followed by live music by Buffalo Jones at 9.

Wallace Brewing has a brewery tour with owner Chase Sanborn at 6:30, followed by a tasting; cost is $8.

– The Area 51 taphouses at both the downtown and North Side Onion Bar & Grill are holding a local IPA competition all week, with voting on blind taste-test samplers of entries by Bellwether, Big Barn, Orlison, Perry Street, River City, Waddell’s, Wallace and Whistle Punk.

– The Orange You Glad We Said Chocolate blood orange/chocolate porter collaboration by the Steam Plant and Waddell’s is on tap at the North Spokane Growler Guys.

The Blackbird features the Goat Breaker tart blood orange IPA collaboration by Iron Goat and Bale Breaker.

Manito Tap House is serving a cellar release of Avery’s 2015 Mephistopheles imperial stout.

– Deschutes’ 2015 Abyss imperial stout is the day’s specialty at Republic Pi .

Steady Flow Growler House and Waddell’s Brewpub have local tap takeovers all week (with a special beer-infused fresh sheet menu at Waddell’s), along with weeklong beer specials at Laughing Dog , Black Label and the Steam Plant plus $8 growler fills at Bennidito’s Brewpub .
