A few odds and ends from this past Spokane (and American) Craft Beer Week:

– Congrats to the winners of the homebrewers’ contests at Orlison and Bellwether . Adam Boyd’s Lederhosen Luau, a Citra dry-hopped Berliner Weisse with pineapple, will be commercially brewed and served in Orlison’s taproom this summer. And Dillon Hueser, whose Northwest Pale Ale with brewing partner Cool Ricky won the Bellwether competition, will get to brew a commercial batch there (recipe to be determined).

– No-Li took home two more medals in international competition . Spin Cycle Red earned one of the four gold medals in the Special/ESB/Best Bitter category and Born & Raised one of eight bronzes at the Australian International Beer Awards , where the brewery previously won bronze for Mosh Pit tart cherry and Rise & Grind coffee milk stout.

– Yesterday’s Red, White & No-Li small-batch festival sold out well in advance, so you’ll want to get the jump on tickets for the next one: the Backyard BBQ fest on Aug. 27, now on sale. In the meantime, check out No-Li’s new Rockin’ on the River summer concert series Saturdays at 7 on the patio through Sept. 10.

Paradise Creek ‘s tart blood orange saison/Berliner Weisse blend, brewed jointly with MickDuff’s, was one of the Craft Beer Week collaboration highlights. Now you can take a video tour of the brewery housed in a historic Pullman post office .

By the way, Paradise Creek’s new hours take effect next week; the taproom will be closed on Mondays, but open earlier at 11:30 a.m. the rest of the week, through 10 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 11 on Friday-Saturday and 9 on Sunday.

– Finally, big thanks to Matt Hanson from Whistle Punk and everyone else who worked hard to make Spokane’s second annual Craft Beer Week a success. Not only was it great fun, it helps build the kind of culture where every week becomes a craft beer week.
