Schweitzer switches up chefs

Schweitzer Mountain Resort has announced a few changes to its culinary team.

Robert Stiers has been promoted to head chef of Chimney Rock Grill. Richard Nakatani has been promoted to the Lakeview Cafe food and beverage manager. And Jordan Hansen is the chef of Sky House and will co-manage Schweitzer’s summit dining experience with Michelle Moss.

The resort is slated to open Saturday, its earliest opening in more than 20 years. It also marks the third earliest opening for the resort since it started keeping track just over 40 years ago.

Schweitzer opened for the 1984-1985 season Nov. 11. It opened by Nov. 16 for the 1994-1995 season. This season, it’s set to open Nov. 18. Schweitzer is at 10,000 Schweitzer Mountain Road outside of Sandpoint. Call (208) 263-9555. On the web: schweitzer.com.
