Find perfect wine pairings at ValenWine Weekend

Here’s a way to find perfect wine pairings for Valentine’s Day.

The Spokane Cork District is celebrating ValenWine Weekend from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Wineries in the Cork District will serve samples of featured wines. Look, also, for sweet treats and gifts at some tasting rooms. Winemakers will be on hand at some locations to talk about their passion for wine.

Tasting fees and special offerings vary at each tasting room.

Here’s a look at some of the specials:

V du V Wines is releasing its 2014 Columbia Valley Pinot Noir, which the winemakers “believe is the best of the three vintages we have released to date.” To celebrate, they’re offering their 2013 vintage at 20 percent off. Samples of Wine Lover’s Chocolate will be offered along with the regular $5 tasting fee.

Helix Tasting Room is partnering with Petunia’s Market Place to offer dark and milk chocolate truffles for sampling and purchase along with its wines.

Tempus Cellars is releasing its 2013 Sagemoor Vineyards Cabernet Franc and offerings chocolate pairings.

Craftsman Cellars has two specials. Save $7 on its 2014 Pinot Noir. Mix and match six of its other wines for 20 percent off. Saturday, its celebration lasts until 9 p.m.

Bridge Press Cellars is offering 25 percent off cases of cabernet sauvignon.

Barili Cellars is releasing its 2015 Double Barrel Red. Buy four bottles – mix and match – and get 20 percent off.
