Body recovered from Coeur d’Alene River
A body was found Saturday in the Coeur d’Alene River during a search-and-rescue effort.
Shoshone County Sheriff’s office deputies located the body east of the Cataldo boat launch in Kootenai County. Kootenai County personnel have since responded and are processing the scene, according to a Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office press release.
The search and rescue was launched after reports of a body floating in the river; however, the body found is not believed to be the same one, nor was it possible to immediately determine whether it might be that of Lionel Harding-Thomas, a 69-year-old man who went missing from Elizabeth Park in April.
An investigation is ongoing.
