Shooting in northeast Spokane sends man to hospital with gunshot wound

A shooting Wednesday evening left one man hospitalized and police looking for a suspect.

Spokane Police Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the area of 2600 N. Market St. at about 7:45 p.m.

There officers found a man with a gunshot wound and provided him medical care while waiting for medics to arrive, according to a Spokane police news release.

The suspect already had driven from the scene, police said. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of a serious injury that was not life-threatening.
