Police find body in river near abandoned car down steep embankment

UPDATED: Thu., Oct. 22, 2020

Spokane police are investigating a body found in the river not far from a vehicle found earlier this week down a steep embankment in Riverside State Park.

Police are in early stages of investigation of the body and car near the Bowl and Pitcher area, Spokane Police Department spokesperson Julie Humphreys said.

A tow truck was on scene to pull the car away, Humphreys said.

The family of 27-year-old Hanifulla Sadat told KHQ the body and car are his. Sadat had been missing since last Friday, they said.
