A Scanner Traffic item this afternoon leaves me amazed. A hothead punched another man in the face during a dispute over a parking spot at Coeur d'Alene Costco on Neider Avenue. I can't think of many things that would cause me to resort to hitting someone with my fists. Can you think of something that would cause you to fight w/fists?
This 1991 SR file photo brings back two memories -- of Fire Storm 1991 and of the photographer who photographed the man jumping over the fence, the late Kit King. Kit was a marvelous SR photographer who died prematurely while fishing. Question: Do you remember Firestorm 1991?

Coeur d'Alene PD has charged 2 13YO boys with arson in separate crimes involving fires along the Coeur d'Alene waterfront. One boy has been charged with setting fire to the Tiki Hut concession stand at Independence Point. The second boy has been charged with setting two fires on Tubbs Hill and is a suspect in 4 more Tubbs Hill fires.
Pecky Cox, our Eye on Priest Lake, agrees with Hills Resort that life is fairly normal in her North Idaho community, despite nearby wildfire. At this point, she said, people are edgy, but they're still going about their usual outdoor routines, incuding some skiing on the lake.
