The Pilots (9-15, 3-6 WCC) showed positive signs with a pair of wins last week after a rough 2-12 stretch.

PULLMAN – The accolades just keep pouring in for Myles Rice.

Gonzaga’s setback against Saint Mary’s didn’t do much damage to the Zags’ analytics and NET ranking – losses vs. quality opponents rarely do – but it was certainly noticeable in the latest bracket projections.

From "First Four In" to "Next Four In," life only gets more challenging this week for the Gonzaga basketball team this week.

An email sent from Gonzaga’s administration to the student body Monday condemned “numerous incidents of inappropriate behavior” that occurred before, during and after Saturday’s West Coast Conference basketball game against Saint Mary’s at McCarthey Athletic Center.

SEATTLE – Jaylen Wells couldn’t get his mind off the midrange. He was repping shots, getting in some off-day work to prepare for his Washington State team’s clash with rival Washington on Saturday, and he was hammering midrange jumpers.

There were trends in Gonzaga’s first five losses of the season and they reappeared in loss No. 6 on Saturday night. The Zags had success early but couldn’t solve Saint Mary’s physical defense for most of the second half – one of the primary reasons the Gaels dug out a 64-62 victory in front of a full house at the McCarthey Athletic Center.
