Alexandra Duggan came to the Spokesman-Review in 2023 and is the daytime crime and courts reporter. She is a graduate from the University of Idaho and came to Spokane from Boise where she was a print reporter for the Idaho Press and a TV reporter at KTVB. Alex covers just about everything, including cold cases, criminal trials, the opioid crisis, police accountability and more.

Police recommend battery and more charges for security guards, others in chaotic Coeur d’Alene Republican town hall

Officers have recommended criminal charges for the private security guards who helped drag a woman by her arms out of a Republican town hall in Coeur d’Alene and battered other people at the February event, according to newly released police reports. A member of the public shown on video helping the security team also faces charges.

A WSU student’s international visa was revoked in what’s likely the latest regional fallout from Trump’s crackdown on campus protests

The U.S. government revoked the international visa of a Washington State University student who left the country in December, the third known school in the Inland Northwest region apparently confronted with the Trump administration’s mission to deport foreign students for participating in protests against Israel.
