Towering comic Brian Posehn headlines Spokane Comedy Club

Brian Posehn pulls no punches when it comes to himself. The towering comic, who is 6-foot-7, typically beats himself up. Posehn, 55, who will perform Friday and Saturday at Spokane Comedy Club, assails himself by pointing out how unattractive the balding, bearded and bespectacled entertainer is.

Face-off: Comparing Paul McCartney’s concerts in Spokane and Seattle

SEATTLE – After delivering a spirited version of "Get Back" on Tuesday night at Climate Pledge Arena, Paul McCartney shimmied backward like a man much younger than his 79 years. Perhaps it's a response to the writer from Spin who described McCartney as "frail" after witnessing the Got Back tour opener at Spokane Arena.

Dad Daze: Just when you think you know everything about your child …

It's common for parents to not know what's percolating inside their kids' brains. My son Eddie, 20, has been so covert since he was a prepubescent that the CIA sounds like a logical career path. Fake news is a phrase that is often bandied about, but how about fake journalist? Veteran comic Ben Palmer could add that position to his resume. While on a long MLK weekend in Alaska with my son Milo, 16, three months ago, I received a call from my daughter Jillian. "One of my recording artists is opening their tour in your market," Jillian said. "The recording artist has never played Spokane." When I asked who she was talking about, there was a pause.

Guitar legend Buddy Guy brings the blues to Northern Quest

You would never know that Buddy Guy is one of the most acclaimed and accomplished guitarists in the long and storied history of the blues when conversing with the icon. Guy, 85, paused after being asked in 2017 what it's like when lionized guitarists such as the late Jimi Hendrix or Jimmy Page praise him.

‘Cash Cab’ host Ben Bailey returns to Spokane Comedy Club

It sounds like Ben Bailey is in his "Cash Cab" while calling for a chat about his shows Friday and Saturday at Spokane Comedy Club. "I am in a vehicle, but it's not the Cash Cab," Bailey said while calling from Morristown, N.J. "I have the original Cash Cab in the garage. It's there collecting dust."

Dad Daze: The ups and downs of surprises

Since I don't recall ever being surprised, I decided to keep my kids on their toes. Perhaps most parents try to replicate their childhoods for their kids, but I had grander ideas and a different process, which has been met with mixed reviews by my children.
