Lynnel Hickman Bridgeport, Wash. Memorial service for Lynnel N. Hickman, 67, is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday at Barnes Chapel in Brewster, Wash.

Mr. Hickman died Jan. 6 in Casa Grande, Ariz. He was born in Sharon Springs, Kan.

He served in the Navy during World War II and moved to Spokane with his wife. He worked at the Mica brick plant, Kaiser Aluminum in Trentwood and as a salesman for John Morrill and Co.

He moved to Bridgeport in the early 1970s and worked on Grand Coulee and Chief Joseph Dams. He also worked for the Army Corps of Engineers.

He was a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dorothy Hickman, at home; one son, Larry Hickman of Olympia; one daughter, Charlene Schwartz of Spokane; two brothers, Earl Hickman of Penrose, Colo., and Ivan Hickman of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sisters, Vada Steele of Pueblo West, Colo., and Norva Kreigh of Sharon Springs; and four grandchildren.

Elisha `Bob’ Crosby Spokane

Graveside service for Elisha “Bob” Crosby, 72, is planned for 2 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Crosby, who died Monday, was born in Collins, Miss.

He was a self-employed demolition contractor and graduated from Spokane Community College. He lived in Spokane for 41 years.

He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and received the Purple Heart Award.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Elnora Crosby, at the home; seven daughters; and 10 grandchildren.

John Swalley Spokane

At his request no service will be held for John L. Swalley, 74. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Swalley, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Monday.

He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and worked for Kaiser Aluminum in Trentwood for 32 years. He retired in 1979.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Norma Swalley, of Deer Park; two daughters, Carol Glisson of Blanchard, Idaho, and Robin McLeod of Otis Orchards; one sister, Beatrice Conrath of Millwood; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Melissa Morgan Ritzville, Wash.

Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. today at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Ritzville for Melissa Nicole Morgan, 19. Burial will follow at Ritzville Memorial Cemetery. Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville is in charge of arrangements.

Miss Morgan died Saturday when her car collided with a tractor pulling a trailer in Grant County. She was born in Elko, Nev.

She moved to St. Maries with her family in 1978 and then to Ritzville. She graduated from Ritzville High School in 1993 and attended Wenatchee Valley College last school year. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church.

She is survived by her parents, Calvin “Butch” and Linda Morgan of Ritzville; three brothers, Bo Morgan of Moscow, Idaho, Joe Morgan of Spokane and Rob Morgan of Wenatchee; and her grandfather Maynard Morgan of Medford, Ore.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ritzville High School Bronco Boosters.

Edward Pehan Spokane

Service for Edward E. “Ed” Pehan, 67 is planned for 2 p.m. today at Calvary Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park Cemetery. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Pehan, who was born in Glentana, Mont., died Monday.

He lived in Spokane for more than 28 years and owned R & E Painting Co.

He was a member of the American Legion, the Calvary Lutheran Church, and was an Army Veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Iris Pehan, at home; one daughter, Cynthia Pierce of Reno, Nev.; one son, Lyle Pehan of McMinnville, Ore.; four brothers, Raymond Pehan of Deer Park, Anthony Pehan of Glasgow, Mont., Casper Pehan of Seattle and James Pehan of St. Helena, Calif.; three sisters, Marie Bergerson and Lorena Stein, both of Glasgow, and Frances Bruhahn of Spokane; and three grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Lutheran Church Computer Fund or the Inland Empire Diabetes Association.

Mildred Geiger Othello, Wash.

Private service and burial will be held at Pines Cemetery in Spokane for Mildred Mable Geiger, 92. MuscottStevens Funeral Chapel in Othello is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Geiger, a former 70-year Spokane resident, died Thursday at Othello Convalescent Center. She was born in Deer Park.

She retired from J.C. Penneys as a sales clerk and moved to Othello 20 years ago.

She is survived by two sisters, Marjorie Freeman of Aloha, Ore., and Mary Lee Fabere of Seattle; four granddaughters, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Edwin Delzer Airway Heights

At his request, no service will be held for Edwin C. Delzer, 90. HennesseySmith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Delzer, who was born in Odessa, Wash., died Sunday.

He worked at Wolf Motor Sales in Odessa for 55 years and retired 10 years ago. He lived in Airway Heights for 11 years.

Mr. Delzer was a World War II Army veteran.

His wife, Hilda Delzer, preceded him in death. He is survived by one son, Eddie Delzer of Airway Heights; three stepsons, Sherman, Richard and Eugene Kosanke, all of Ritzville, Wash.; and two sisters, Adeline Luce of Spokane and Ruth Schoessler of Moses Lake.

Earl Storm Deer Park

Service for Earl F. Storm, former Spokane firefighter, is planned for 10 a.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North. Burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Mr. Storm, who was born in Bandon, Ore., died Sunday from cancer. He was 83.

He grew up in Wyoming and moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho, in 1926, with his family. They moved to Spokane in 1932. He was a firefighter for 33 years and retired in 1973 and moved to Deer Park that same year.

He was a member of the Firefighters Local No. 29, the International Association of Firefighters and the Spokane Retired Fireman’s Association.

His wife, Ruth Storm, died in 1992. He is survived by one daughter, Bea Cooke of Deer Park; one son, Leonard Storm of Chattaroy; two brothers and four sisters; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Joseph Haines Elk

Service for Joseph A. Haines, 83, is planned for 10 a.m. today at Riverside Mausoleum Chapel. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Haines died Thursday, near Elk, in a head-on collision. He was born in Trail, Okla.

He lived in Spokane for more than 50 years and was a truck driver. He was a member of the Teamsters Union.

His wife, Betty Haines, died in 1965. He is survived by two sons, Daniel Haines of Mariposa, Calif., and Michael Haines of Spokane; one daughter, Colleen Hackett of Spokane; one brother, Mark Haines of Seattle; eight grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren.

Bonnie (Rosengrant) Archer Everett

Graveside service for Bonnie (Rosengrant) Archer, 54, was held at Spokane Memorial Gardens. Memorial service was held in Everett, by General Telephone and Electric.

Mrs. Archer, a former Spokane resident, died July 26 at Everett General Hospital. She was born in St. Maries and graduated from Central Valley High School.

She worked for GTE for 22 years in Everett and Coeur d’Alene and retired in 1992.

She is survived by one daughter, Teri Burbee, and one son, Thomas Miller, both of Everett; her parents, Dwight and Viola Rosengrant of Spokane; one sister, Marla Reilly of Spangle; two brothers, Jerry Rosengrant of Council, Idaho, and Brent Rosengrant of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; and two grandchildren.

Herbert `Satch’ Williams Wellpinit, Wash.

Funeral Mass for Herbert “Satch” Williams, 61, is planned for 10 a.m. today at the Spokane Tribal Longhouse in Wellpinit. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Wellpinit. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Williams, who died Saturday, was born in Wellpinit.

He was a member of the Spokane Tribe and worked as a heavy equipment operator for the roads division of the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Gloria Williams, at home; one daughter, Phyllis Holt, and one son, Herbert Williams Jr., both of Ford, Wash.; five stepchildren, including Charles Parker and Serena Galler, both of Desmet, Idaho; his mother, Nancy Williams, one brother, Sid Flett, and one sister, Edith Medicine, all of Wellpinit; and several stepgrandchildren.

Clara Johnson Spokane

At her request, no service will be held for Clara A. Johnson, 85. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of cremation.

Mrs. Johnson, a 60-year Spokane resident, died Sunday. She was born in St. John, Wash.

She worked as a secretary for the government in the grain department and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by one sister, Gail Trunkey of St. John.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.

Nola Thomas Otis Orchards

Service for Nola Thomas, 89, was held Friday at Horsley Funeral Home in Malad, Idaho. Burial was at Lewiston (Utah) Cemetery.

Mrs. Thomas, who died July 31, was born in Rexburg, Idaho.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in Sunday school. In 1986 she and her husband, Roy Thomas, began serving a two-year mission in the East Central States Mission. They returned to Malad and she moved to Spokane in 1981.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Cyrus Waddoups and Roy Thomas. She is survived by one daughter, Gwen Ruegsegger of Otis Orchards; one stepson, Gerald Thomas of Malad; one stepdaughter, Joyce Elkington of Idaho Falls; three sisters, Virginia Finch of California, Bethea Krc of Hemet, Calif., and Bernice Andritsas of Inglewood, Calif.; nine grandchildren and 12 stepgrandchildren.

Marie Meck Spokane

Vigil service for Marie J. Meck, 88, is planned for 7:30 p.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mrs. Meck, a 56-year Spokane resident, died Sunday. She was born in Spokane.

She worked for J.J. Newberry and retired in 1968.

She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the East Spokane Grange.

Her husband, Louis Meck, died in 1951. She is survived by one daughter, Lorna Peters of Spokane; two sons, Dave Meck of Spokane and Gene Meck of Anchorage, Alaska; one brother, Bob Martin of California; one sister, Betty Hall of Spokane; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
