Just Your Cup ‘A Tea

Gourmet tea is the next big beverage trend, the experts say, and Spokane’s Valerie Clausen hopped on board early.

For the past two years, Clausen has been importing the flavorful Kinnells Scottish Tea from Edinburgh to the United States. A handy way to test the waters is her Tea Traveller kit: five assorted 1/4-ounce packets of either exotic (flavored with fruits and flower petals) or classic blends, packaged in a zippered carrying case with a silver-plated infuser.

Price: Around $30.

Available: At Spokane stores including Copper Colander, Cobblestone Inn & Baking Co., Thomas Hammer Roasting Co., Northwest Gourmet and Bramble Berry Cottage & Tea Shop, or by calling 747-9064 in Spokane or (800) 337-4832.
