Government Almanac For The Week Of March 26

Spokane City Council Monday, 5:30 p.m. briefing, fifth-floor conference room; 6 p.m. regular meeting City Hall, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.

The council plans to consider a proposal to shift control of the city’s community-policing substations from the police department to a non-profit group. Council members also will consider buying the assets from Quinn’s Wheels Rentals & Sales.

Spokane Hearing Examiner Thursday, 7 p.m. special meeting Northeast Community Center, 4001 N. Cook

The city’s hearing examiner plans to consider three paving and curbing projects: Princeton Avenue from Freya to Florida streets; Longfellow Avenue from Freya to Florida streets; Rich Avenue from Freya to Havana streets.

Spokane County Growth Management Steering Committee Friday, 9:30 a.m., Broadway Centre Building, 721 N. Jefferson.

The committee is made up of the three county commissioners and representatives from all the cities in the county. It is working to draft interim urban growth areas - places where highdensity development will be allowed to continue in Spokane County.
