Movies By Hitchcock Being Released On Video

Fourteen hit movies by Alfred Hitchcock are being released Tuesday by MCA Universal Home Video.

“The Alfred Hitchcock Collection” encompasses a wide swath of Hitchcock’s work:Titles ($14.98 each) in the collection:

“Rear Window” (1954), with James Stewart, Grace Kelly, Thelma Ritter, Wendell Corey and Raymond Burr.

“The Birds” (1963), Tippi Hedren, Jessica Tandy, Rod Taylor, Suzanne Pleshette.

“Psycho” (1960), Anthony Perkins, Janet Leigh, John Gavin and Vera Miles.

“Vertigo” (1958), James Stewart, Kim Novak and Barbara Bel Geddes.

“Rope” (1948), James Stewart, Farley Granger and John Dall.

“Topaz” (1969), John Forsythe, John Vernon and Philippe Noiret.

“Frenzy” (1972), Jon Finch, Alec McCowen and Barry Foster.

“Torn Curtain” (1969), Paul Newman and Julie Andrews.

“Family Plot” (1976), Bruce Dern, Barbara Harris, William Devane and Karen Black.

“The Man Who Knew Too Much” (1956), James Stewart and Doris Day.

“Marnie” (1964), Tippi Hedren, Sean Connery and Diane Baker.

“Saboteur” (1942), Robert Cummings and Priscilla Lane.

“Shadow of a Doubt” (1943), Joseph Cotten, Teresa Wright and Hume Cronyn.

“The Trouble With Harry” (1955), John Forsythe, Edmund Gwenn, Mildred Natwick and Shirley MacLaine.

On Tuesday, MCA also is releasing “The Clint Eastwood Collection,” seven memorable adventures at $14.98 each: “High Plains Drifter,” “Play Misty for Me,” “Two Mules for Sister Sara,” “Coogan’s Bluff,” “The Eiger Sanction,” “The Beguiled” and “Joe Kidd.”

Columbia TriStar Home Video joins in Tuesday’s spree with five new-to-video “Three Stooges” titles: “Have Rocket Will Travel,” “The Outlaws Is Coming,” “Three Stooges in Orbit,” “Around the World in a Daze” and “Stop! Look! and Laugh!” In addition, “The Three Stooges Meet Hercules,” already released, has been reduced to $14.95.

Running times are 76 to 93 mins.
