Youth Found Dead Was From Cda

A youth found dead Tuesday on Tubbs Hill has been identified as a former Coeur d’Alene School District student.

The 17-year-old Coeur d’Alene resident was found hanging from a rope around his neck in a tree near the top of Tubbs Hill.

Police and the Kootenai County coroner believe he committed suicide.

Two women found the body while walking in the popular recreation area near downtown Coeur d’Alene.

Police said the boy was not currently enrolled in school but had been a student at Coeur d’Alene High School and then Project Coeur d’Alene alternative school. Coeur d’Alene school officials confirmed that he had been a student in the district.
