Stockton Cold As Atlanta Ends Utah’s Streak

Mookie Blaylock scored 23 points and thoroughly outplayed Dream Teamer John Stockton in the battle of point guards Tuesday night, leading the Atlanta Hawks to a 115-89 rout of the Utah Jazz in Atlanta.

Stockton, averaging 16 points per game, managed only four, setting the tone for a Jazz team that fell apart in the fourth quarter to suffer its worst loss of the season and snap a seven-game winning streak.

Denver guard Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf, who has cited religious beliefs for his refusal this season to stand during the playing of the National Anthem, was suspended without pay by the NBA. The suspension will continue for as long as the player refuses to comply with the rule.
