Hockey Ratings Low
The national telecast of the women’s hockey game between the U.S. and Canada on Wednesday was watched in about 210,000 homes, according to overnight ratings released by cable network Lifetime Television.
The 0.3 rating received by the cable network for Canada’s 5-4 victory over the U.S. was about half the audience it attracted for its telecasts of Women’s National Basketball Association games this season. Lifetime said it expected those numbers.
Under a $650,000 agreement to sponsor the U.S. Women’s Olympic Hockey Team, the cable network has the right to broadcast another game before the Olympics.
