Teen Faces Charges In Paintball Shooting

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 16-year-old boy accused of shooting a girl in the head with a paintball gun is facing a second-degree assault charge, sheriff’s deputies said.

The Riverside High School student was arrested after deputies were called to the 34000 block of North Milan Road at about 6:30 p.m. Monday.

A 12-year-old girl told deputies she was playing in the street with friends when the boy approached with the gun.

The boy fired at her and a friend from about eight feet away. The victim ducked and tried to cover her face, but the paintball hit her above the left eye, deputies said.

She had an inch-high lump on her head but did not require hospitalization, deputies said.

Deputies went to the suspect’s home and found the weapon they believe was used in the assault. The teenager was booked into the Spokane County Juvenile Detention Center. , DataTimes
