Alexander Antoine Keller, Wash.

Funeral for Alexander John Antoine, 79, is planned for 11 a.m. today at Keller Community Center. Burial will follow at Keller Cemetery. Strate Funeral Home in Grand Coulee, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Antoine, who was born in British Columbia, died Friday.

He worked as a logger and was a 60-year resident of Keller. He was also a member of the Colville Confederated Tribes.

His wife, Irene Antoine, preceded him in death.

Survivors include 11 children, Bernadine Antoine Peterson of Spokane; Lorraine Antoine Tonasket, Linda Antoine Goodwin, Christine, Cecil and Cyril Antoine, all of Keller, Chester Antoine and Matilda Antoine Munson, both of Elmer City, Wash., Allen Antoine of Grand Coulee, Lucille Antoine Way of Nine Mile Falls and Victor Antoine of Vernon, British Columbia; two sisters, Lucy Antoine McClellan of Malo, Wash., and Madeline Antoine MacKinnon of Keremeos, British Columbia; 30 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Renee Yingst Spokane

Funeral for Renee L. Yingst, 77, is set for 2 p.m. today at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Yingst, who died Sunday, was born in Lyon, France.

She moved to Ivry, a suburb of Paris, as a child and was raised there through the German occupation of France during World War II.

In 1946 she married Merald Yingst in Ivry, and they moved to Deer Park later that year. Six years later, they moved to Spokane.

Mrs. Yingst worked as a homemaker and was a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church and the Spokane Humane Society.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Nadine Presta of Spokane; and three granddaughters.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church or the Spokane Humane Society.

Mary Schultz Reardan, Wash.

Vigil service for Mary Rose Schultz, 90, is planned for 7 p.m. today at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Reardan. Funeral Mass is set for 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Spokane. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Cheney Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Schultz, who died Thursday, was born in Portland.

She graduated from Holy Names Academy and Cheney Normal School.

Mrs. Schultz taught school in the Garfield, Wash., area. She moved to a ranch near Reardan following her marriage to Frank Schultz in 1934.

She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Reardan.

Her husband died in 1996.

Survivors include three sons, John and Tom Schultz, both of Reardan and Jerry Schultz of Winthrop, Wash.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Patricia Clark Newport, Wash.

Funeral for Patricia Ann Clark will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Assembly of God Church in Newport. Burial will follow at Spring Valley (Wash.) Mennonite Cemetery. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Clark, who was born in Williston, N.D., died Saturday. She was 65.

She graduated from college with a teaching degree and taught special education in Grand Forks, N.D., and in Gary, Ind.

In 1964 she married David Clark in Grand Forks. They moved to the Newport area in 1977.

After moving to Newport, she taught elementary music for the Cusick School District for more than eight years and then substituted in Newport for many years.

Mrs. Clark also gave private piano and vocal lessons and was a member of Newport Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Beth Howell of Newport; a son, Larry Clark of Eugene, Ore.; four sisters, Mary Solberg of Williston, Florence Coleman of St. Paul, Minn., Rosie Schan of Minot, N.D., and Geraldine Strong of Lewiston; and two grandchildren.

Sharon Walkling Spokane

Funeral for Sharon K. Walkling, 46, is scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Mrs. Walkling, a 22-year Spokane resident, died Friday in an automobile accident on Highway 195 at Qualchan Road.

She was born in Valentine, Neb., and graduated in 1970 from Villa Park (Calif.) High School.

Mrs. Walkling worked as a certified nurse’s aide and was a member of Glad Tiding Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include two sons, James and Joseph Whitley, both of Spokane; two daughters, Sherry Wilson and Kari Whitley, both of Spokane; her parents, James and Vivian Walkling of Valleyford; a brother, Bryan Walkling of Valleyford; a sister, Cheryl Ann Didier of Spokane; and three grandchildren.

Helen Johnson Spokane

Funeral for Helen H. Johnson, 76, is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Mrs. Johnson, who was born in Oroville, Wash., died Monday.

She graduated from Davenport (Wash.) High School and moved to Spokane almost 60 years ago.

Mrs. Johnson was involved in selling Tupperware.

Survivors include a son, Kevin Johnson of Spokane; two daughters, Susan Cortner of Spokane and Jacqueline Bordenet of Bothell, Wash.; six sisters, Betty Crumley of Spokane, Dorothy Erics of Medical Lake, Gertrude Frohnhafer of Airway Heights, Ruth Dugger of Colfax, Wash., June Bancroft of Arizona and Hazel Schuh of Moses Lake; a brother, Bob Frohnhafer of Spokane; and four grandchildren.

Royden ‘Bob’ Otterness Spokane

Private service for Royden A. “Bob” Otterness, 88, will be held at a later date. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Otterness, who was born in Willmar, Minn., died Friday.

He moved to Spokane about 45 years ago and worked as a district manager for heavy equipment companies, which included Shield Bantam. He retired in 1972.

Mr. Otterness was a member of the Manito Country Club.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Tacoa; a son, Robert Otterness of Coeur d’Alene; two granddaughters and one great-grandson.

Raynard Loft Spokane

Private family service for Raynard Carlyle Loft, 71, will be held at a later date. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Loft, a 43-year resident of Spokane, died Monday.

He was born in Ord, Neb., and served in the Marine Corps during World War II.

Mr. Loft worked for the railroad as a refrigeration technician and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Loft-Dunford and Anita Loft-Secor, both of Spokane; a son, Mike Loft of Spokane; a brother, Eldon Loft of San Antonio; a sister, Evelyn Witt of Grand Island, Neb.; and eight grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center Nursing Home Care Unit.

Dewey Simpson Sr. Ritzville, Wash.

Funeral for Dewey Curtis Simpson Sr., 72, is planned for 2 p.m. Friday at Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville. Concluding services and vault burial will follow at Ritzville Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Simpson, who was born in DeQueen, Ark., died Monday.

From 1921 to 1932 he followed the rodeo circuit and came to Orville, Wash., in 1947. He married Louise McKinley in 1956 in Tonasket, Wash.

In 1957 they moved to the Ritzville and Lind, Wash., areas, where he worked for several area farmers. They moved into Ritzville in 1967.

Over the years, Mr. Simpson had several jobs working on area farms and the U & I Sugar Plant in Warden, Wash., and Moses Lake for four years. He retired in 1982.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dewey Simpson Jr. of Ritzville and Michael Simpson of Calgary, Alberta; three daughters, Emer Simpson of Spokane, Patricia Wiggins of Albuquerque, N.M., and Mary Ann Spencer of Tacoma; two brothers, Charles Simpson of Anderson, Calif., and Orvil Simpson of Andrews, Texas; and 13 grandchildren.

Mary Paulsen Spokane

Inurnment for Mary Phyllis Paulsen is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at Riverside Memorial Park. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Paulsen, 81, died Sunday.

She was born in Dayton, Wash., and graduated from Washington State University with a bachelor’s degree. She then received her master’s degree in dietetics from Utah State.

Mrs. Paulsen joined the Army and served on the Navy hospital ship Comfort as a dietician.

After military service, she worked as a dietician in the Seattle School District and, after moving to Spokane, worked as a dietician for School District 81.

Mrs. Paulsen and her husband owned Paulsen’s Motel in Wilbur, Wash., from 1953 to 1976. They moved back to Spokane in 1976.

Her husband of 43 years, Paul Paulsen, died in 1995.

Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Long of Spokane; a son, John Paulsen of Everett; and two grandsons.

Ronald Oberst Spokane

Private memorial service for Ronald Bennett Oberst, 55, is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at his home. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Oberst, who was born in Spokane, died Thursday.

He graduated in 1961 from East Valley High School and served in the Coast Guard.

Mr. Oberst worked for City Parcel as a courier for many years. He was a member of the Spokane Memorial Society and was a Red Cross volunteer.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Joan; a son, Jamie Miller of Sandpoint; two daughters, Renee Revoyr of Lynnwood, Wash., and Dawn Dempsey of Sandpoint; his parents, Robert and Floy Oberst of Spokane; three brothers, Tom Oberst of Spokane, Doug Oberst of Bothell, Wash., and Gary Oberst of Kamloops, British Columbia; a sister, Diane Hall of Greenacres; and seven grandchildren.

Anna Margaret Pullman

Memorial service for Anna Chung Margaret, 25, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Community Congregational United Church of Christ in Pullman. A reception will follow at Kruegel Park in Pullman. Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman is in charge of arrangements.

Miss Margaret, who was born in Korea, died Friday following a central nervous system hemorrhage.

She moved from Seoul, Korea, to Pullman in 1976 and graduated in 1992 from Pullman High School. She was active in volleyball, cheerleading, dance, 4-H and the Junior Miss program.

At the time of her death, she was studying fashion merchandising at Washington State University. She also volunteered at Franklin Elementary and spent time introducing international students to the Pullman community.

Survivors include her mother, Patricia Margaret of Pullman; her father, David Margaret of Canyon, Texas; two brothers, Craig Margaret of Seattle and Nathan Margaret of Portland; and her grandparents, Frank and Elizabeth Maixner of Seward, Neb., and Violet Margaret of Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Leonilla ‘Onie’ Fitzgerald Spokane

Memorial service for Leonilla “Onie” Fitzgerald, 95, will be held at a later date in Walla Walla. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Miss Fitzgerald, who was born in Hospers, Iowa, died Sunday.

She was raised in Walla Walla and then moved to Spokane where she worked for Seattle-First Natiional Bank as a secretary for several years.

Miss Fitzgerald then moved to San Francisco until her retirement. She returned to Spokane six years ago.

Survivors include a sister, Helen Marie Kolb of Sequim, Wash.

Silvio Dimico Kingston, Idaho No service will be held for Silvio Dimico, 81, at his request. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Dimico, who was born in Springston, Idaho, died Sunday.

He moved to the Silver Valley in 1932 and worked at the Bunker Hill Zinc Plant on the carpenter crew and then worked for Kellogg Transfer, retiring in 1979.

Mr. Dimico was a founder of the Kingston Water District and served on the board for 28 years. He also helped set up the Kingston television cable.

Mr. Dimico was preceded in death by his first wife, Florence.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Dorothy; a son, Larry Dimico of Osburn, Idaho; a daughter, Sally Nordstrom of Kingston; four stepdaughters, Joanne Avera of Pinehurst, Idaho, Phyllis Barker of St. Maries, Donna Kitchen of Pinecreek, Idaho, and Doreen Choate of Georgia; two brothers, Gene Dimico of Sequim, Wash., and Pierre Dimico of Spokane; two sisters, Julia Felice of Spokane and Josephine Cheever of Cheney; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
