Bob Riese has been producing Italian sausage at The Chef Restaurant in Spokane for seven decades — since he was a mere 12 years old.

Home cooks can pick some up at The Chef’s sister business, Piccolo’s Italian Market. Sweet and hot links are regularly available; you can also get fennel-free or extra-hot links, or any of the varieties in bulk, by special order.

Price: $2.89 per pound.
