UI Faculty Members Named To Globe

Teresa Kennedy and Michael Odell, both faculty members from the University of Idaho’s College of Education, have been chosen to serve on a training team for GLOBE (Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment), an international hands-on science and education program.

The pair are among eight professors in the nation selected to be part of GLOBE’s new Train the Trainer’s Team. The purpose of the team is to help integrate GLOBE’s scientific protocols into school curriculum across the nation and in the world.

GLOBE, which was established by Vice President Al Gore, partners students, teachers and scientists from around the world to collect research data about the Earth’s environment.

Marjorie K. Watts, a member of the Coeur d’Alene Chapter of the Idaho Writer’s League, recently took third place in the nonfiction category of the league’s annual statewide writing contest.
