Arma-Grill Oh!

Add Spokesman-Review on Google

If you’re not going to try any new grilling recipes this Labor Day weekend, you can at least slap on a different barbecue sauce than you’ve been using all summer.

Armadillo Barbecue sauce comes from the Woodinville, Wash., restaurant of the same name, owned by Spokane-bred brothers Bob and Bruce Gill. Unlike the typical tomato-based sauces, its ingredient list includes unsulphured molasses and orange juice before getting to the tomato paste.

And as an added bonus, when the bottle’s empty, it’s good for $1 off dinner at the restaurant.

Price: About $3 for 12 ounces.

Available: At selected area supermarkets, including Albertson’s, Safeway, Rosauers and Super 1.
