‘Sunset Beach’ Will Go Dark

Less than five months after NBC canceled “Another World,” the peacock has decided to turn the lights off on its 3-year-old “Sunset Beach.”

The drama has struggled since its debut in January 1997. During the 1998-99 season it was last among all soap operas, averaging 1.9 million viewers.

Production on “Sunset” stops in November, and the last telecast will be Dec. 31.
