UI Honor Societies Name Recent Inductees
Rijel Glasebrook of Moscow, Taryn Winegardner of Rathdrum and Carolyn Barnett of Tensed, Idaho, all were recently inducted into the University of Idaho chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota, a music honorary for women. Students were selected for academic achievement.
To be eligible for the society, a student must have the recommendation of a faculty member, have completed at least 12 credit hours and maintained a minimum 3.0 grade-point average in music courses.
Betsy Whitehead of St. Maries and Ian Melton of Spirit Lake have been initiated as new members in the University of Idaho chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, an English honorary society.
To be eligible, students must be English majors, have completed six credits of English classes beyond introductory English and maintain a minimum 3.0 grade-point average in those classes.
The University of Idaho chapter of Phi Delta Kappa, a College of Education honor society, has recognized local students for academic achievement.
To be eligible, students must be in the Teacher Education Program and maintain a minimum 3.0 grade-point average in all teacher education courses. Members may be either graduate or undergraduate students in the program.
