Agnes Hurbi Valley, Wash.
Vigil service for Agnes Pauline Hurbi, 86, will be at 7 p.m. today at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church in Valley. Service is planned for 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Jump Off Joe, Wash. Schanzenbach Funeral Home in Chewelah, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hurbi, who was born in Valley, died Sunday.
She graduated in 1931 from Valley High School and from Holy Names Normal School in 1934.
Mrs. Hurbi taught school at various places in the Valley area during the 1930s and early 1940s.
In 1942 she married Al Hurbi and they owned a cattle farm near Valley.
Mrs. Hurbi was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church and Altar Society in Valley.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, David Hurbi of Spokane, Marty Hurbi of Pittsburgh, Raymond Hurbi of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Robert Hurbi of Simi Valley, Calif.; three daughters, Irene Thompson of Seattle, Rita Dickey of Olympia and Loretta Stoltenberg of Kodiak, Alaska; five brothers, The Rev. Charles and John Skok, both of Spokane, Nick Skok of Valley, Phil Skok of Chewelah and Jasper Skok of Mercer Island, Wash.; four sisters, Mamie Johnson, Helen Kroutz and Sister Anne Skok, all of Spokane, and Betty White of San Diego; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Margaret (Gilger) Selden Spokane
Visitation for Margaret H. (Gilger) Selden, 82, will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Service is planned for 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mrs. Selden, who was born in Deer Park, died Saturday. She was a 62-year Spokane resident.
She graduated from Cusick (Wash.) High School in 1938 and married Everett Selden the same year.
Mrs. Selden was a homemaker.
Her husband preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Niles and John Selden; a sister, Dorothy Brennan; a brother, Lloyd Gilger; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson’s Educational Program or the American Heart Association.
Grace Hanning Spokane
Visitation for Grace Hanning, 74, will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North. Service is planned for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Private burial will be held.
Mrs. Hanning, who was born in Tacoma, died Sunday. She was a 50-year Spokane resident.
She graduated from Grandview (Wash.) High School in 1944.
Mrs. Hanning was an active partner in her husband’s road construction and long-haul trucking business. She also administered nursing homes, and owned and operated the Senior Citizens Nursing Home.
She was a member of the First Church of the Open Bible. She also volunteered at St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute, her children’s parent-teachers associations, and Rainbow Girls.
Her husband of 38 years, Marshall, died in 1987.
Survivors include a son, Steven Hanning of Spokane; two daughters, Bev Gladder of Portland and Cathy Wamsley of Hermiston, Ore.; two sisters, Joyce Grant of Buckley, Wash., and Darlene Brown of Grandview, Wash.; and five grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Church of the Open Bible Youth Camp.
Joseph Strong Spokane
Visitation for Joseph L. Strong, 72, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. No services will be held at his request.
Mr. Strong, a lifetime resident of Spokane, died Sunday.
He was an auto detailer.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Nina; nine children; a brother, Robert Strong, and sister, Charlotte Strong, both of Spokane; 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Clifford Daily Orient, Wash.
Graveside service for Clifford D. Daily, 62, was held Tuesday at the Orient (Wash.) Cemetery. Danekas Funeral Home in Colville, Wash., was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Daily, who was born in Colville, died May 27.
He was a welder and mechanic and worked on heavy machinery.
Mr. Daily was a member of the American Motorcycle Association and the Eagles Lodge.
Survivors include his companion, Brenda Alden; four sons, Rusty and Jeremy Daily, both of Spokane, Alex Daily of Marysville, Wash., and Robert Daily of Sumner, Wash.; a daughter, Robin Daily of Puyallup, Wash.; three sisters, Jean, Evelyn and Helen; three brothers, Vic, Jerry and Howard; and numerous grandchildren.

Virgil Martin Wynne, Ark.
Service for Virgil Stanley Martin, 75, was held Tuesday at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in Wynne. Private burial will be in Spokane.
Mr. Martin, who was born in Usk, Wash., died Sunday.
He graduated from high school in Spokane, and married Ellen Davis in 1977.
Mr. Martin served in the Army, and was a supervisor for Washington Water Power for 20 years before retiring in 1985 and moving to Wynne.
Mr. Martin was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and the Sahara Shriners in Spokane.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Richard and Brian Martin, both of Spokane, and Claude Martin of Reardan, Wash.; three daughters, Jacqueline Quintero of Spokane, Cynthia Teague of Heafer, Ark., and Carla Laycox of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, Cecil Martin of Spirit Lake, Idaho, and Jerry Rowe of Seattle; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital in St. Louis.
C. Claude Hearn Spokane
Memorial service for C. Claude Hearn, 74, will be at 1 p.m Saturday at Riplinger Funeral Home.
Mr. Hearn, who was born in Clarence, Texas, died Friday. He was a 43-year Spokane resident.
He worked in the printing industry and owned and operated Hearn Printing in 1972. He passed the company on to his sons in 1986.
He played the trombone in several community bands, including the El Katif Shrine Band, and he also played at weekly dances for The Day Out for the Blind. He was a member of Manito Masonic Lodge No. 246, Scottish Rite Bodies, El Katif Shrine, South Spokane Shrine Club, Royal Order of Jesters, Court No. 65 and the Eagles Lodge Aerie No. 2.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Patricia; sons, Dale, Mark and Johnny Hearn; a brother, Bill Hearn of Montgomery, Texas; two sisters, Shirley Thomas of Montgomery, Texas, and Viola Hitt of Burnett, Texas; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be made to El Katif Shrine or to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
Helen Mather Spokane
Service for Helen W. Mather, 92, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Sunset Chapel in Fairmount Memorial Park. Burial will follow the service. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Mather, who was born in Bayfield, Wis., died Sunday.
She married William Mather in 1928. He died in 1978.
Mrs. Mather was a homemaker.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Mather of Spokane, William Mather of Olympia and Richard Mather of Kennewick; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Warren Stevens Deer Park
Memorial service for Warren William Stevens, 86, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church in Deer Park. Lauer Funeral Home in Deer Park is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Stevens, a lifetime resident of Deer Park, died Sunday.
He graduated from Riverside High School in 1932.
Mr. Stevens was a farmer and logger, and worked for Washington Brick and Lime Company. He later worked for the state Department of Natural Resources and retired in 1979.
He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Deer Park.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Luella; two sons, Donald Stevens of Deer Park and Albert Stevens of Pleasant Hills, Calif.; a daughter, Darla Howe of Greensboro, N.C.; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Robert Radmacher Hayden, Idaho
Memorial service for Robert E. “Bob” Radmacher, 46, will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene.
Mr. Radmacher, who was born in Fallbrook, Calif., died Sunday.
He grew up and graduated from high school in Fallbrook and attended Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix.
Mr. Radmacher returned to Fallbrook and managed a Chevron station for his father, and married Vicki Carroll in 1974.
The couple moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1977 and he worked for Beaudry Motors and Salisbury and Dietz before goint to work for Robideaux Motors in Coeur d’Alene, where he had worked for the last 14 years.
Mr. Radmacher was involved in hot rod and classic car activities and participated in golf.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Shawna Brantner of Spokane and Shasta Radmacher of Hayden; and a stepsister, Carol Saindon of Blythe Calif.
Lena Halpin Spokane
Graveside service for Lena Joyce Halpin, 90, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Spokane Memorial Gardens. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Halpin, who was born in Butte, N.D., died May 11.
She was married to Howard William Halpin for more than 25 years. They divorced in 1970.
Mrs. Halpin was a homemaker.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.
Lester Malinak Spokane
Private family service for Lester Norman Malinak Sr., 68, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Fidelity Mausoleum at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Lester, who was born in Moyie Springs, Idaho, died Sunday.
He graduated from Rogers High School in 1949 and married Sally Bodey in 1951.
Mr. Lester was a journeyman carpenter and became a general contractor building homes in Spokane. He retired in 1994.
He was a member of the carpenters union.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Les Malinak Jr. of Spokane; four sisters, Gladys Davis of Spokane, Twila Steinbach of Greenacres, Ruth Kraus of Coeur d’Alene and Marie Johnston of Kingston, Idaho; and two brothers, Lloyd Malinak of Spokane and Gerald Malinak of Anchorage, Alaska.
Florence Hooper Silverton, Idaho
No service will be held for Florence Hooper, 91. Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hooper, who was born in Wallace, died May 28.
She was a lifelong North Idaho resident, and worked as a registered nurse and had served as the head delivery nurse at Coeur d’Alene Hospital for many years.
Mrs. Hooper was preceded in death by her husband, Harold.
Survivors include a stepson, John Hooper of Liberty Lake; a brother, Frank Kottkey of Silverton; a sister, Elaine Ludwick of Wallace; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
William Schreiber Spokane
Visitation for William D. Schreiber, 77, will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Service is planned for 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Spokane Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Schreiber, who was born in Deer Lodge, Mont., died Monday.
He served in the Army during World War II.
Mr. Schreiber was retired from the banking industry. He founded the Skymeadows Air Park, and in the 1950s owned and operated the air ambulance in Ferry County.
He was a 32nd Degree Mason out of Kettle Falls, Wash. He was also a member of the Lions Club and the Washington Pilots Association.
His wife, Dorothy, died in 1994.
Survivors include a daughter, Suzanne Schreiber-Grubbs of Portland; a son, Robert Schreiber of Morro Bay, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
