Produce expected to be available this week at area farmers’ markets (depending on weather; shop early for best selection):

Spokane MarketPlace (Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., DeSmet and Ruby): baby turnips, turnip greens, mustard greens, radishes, Romaine lettuce, leaf lettuce, red lettuce, strawberries, cherries, asparagus, Walla Walla Sweets, green onions, early sweet peas, rhubarb, walnuts, assorted medicinal and culinary herbs and assorted organic produce and breads.

Spokane Farmers’ Market (Wednesday and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., First Covenant Church parking lot at Second and Division in Spokane): spinach, leaf lettuce, romaine lettuce, salad mix, radishes, carrots, turnips, green onions, green garlic, Bright Lights chard, Swiss chard, kale, mustard greens, arugula, orach, bok choy, new potatoes (red and Yukon gold), snap peas, shell peas, pea pods, assorted herbs, edible flowers, cherries and strawberries.

Kootenai County Farmers’ Market (Saturday 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Highway 95 and Prairie Avenue in Coeur d’Alene): Lettuces, lettuce mixes, mesclun, radishes, spinach, kale, herbs, parsley, beets, scallions, mustards, strawberries, carrots, basil, new potatoes, shell peas, bok choy, chinese cabbage, kohlrabi, daikon radishes, natural beef, beef jerky, fresh chicken.

Farmers’ Market at Sandpoint (Wednesday 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Harvest Festival and final market day, Saturday 9 a.m. to noon, at Farmin Park, Third and Main): Lettuce, salad mix, mustard greens, spinach, radishes, turnips, snow peas, rhubarb, green onions, garlic greens, assorted herbs, bok choy, broccoli, edible flowers, carrots, beets and kale.

Colville Farmers Market (Wednesday noon to 6 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Hawthorne and Elm Street, Colville): Strawberries, cherries, salad mixes, spinach, lettuce, radishes, onions, turnips, broccoli, fresh cut herbs, pies, breads, cookies, jams and jellies, cut flower, vegetable, herb and flower starts, berry canes, blueberry bushes, fruit trees, rose bushes and ornamental bushes and trees.
