Milton Tedrow Spokane

Memorial service for Milton J. Tedrow, 76, will be at 12:30 p.m. today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Cheney. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Springdale, Wash., Mr.Tedrow died Friday.

He served in the Navy during World War II and served aboard the USS Nashville in the Pacific Theater.

In 1942 he married Agnes Van Blarkom. She died in 1974.

He worked as a contract miner and gold prospector at the Nobhill and Flaghill Mines. He also owned and operated the Republic (Wash.) to Colville (Wash.) Stageline from 1956 to 1966.

Mr. Tedrow moved to Spokane in 1966 and graduated from Spokane Community College in 1973.

He worked as a licensed practical nurse at Eastern State Hospital in Medical Lake from 1967 to 1986. He also owned Milt’s Cabinets and Woodworking.

In 1975 he married Lorraine Sims. She died in 1993.

Mr. Tedrow was a member of Eagles Lodge Aerie 2 and Teamsters Union Local 782.

Survivors include a son, Steve Tedrow of San Diego; three daughters, Connie Tedrow, Denise Rains and Cathy Johnson, all of Spokane; a brother, Wayne Tedrow of Priest River, Idaho; and 13 grandchildren.

Chester Rojan Spokane

Memorial service for Chester E. Rojan, 91, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home.

Mr. Rojan, who was born in Hope, Idaho, died Saturday.

He was a 52-year Spokane resident.

Mr. Rojan served in the Civilian Conservation Corps, and, during World War II, he worked at Farragut Naval Base. He worked at Kodiak Naval Air Station after the war.

He moved to Spokane in 1948 and worked as a welder for Kaiser Aluminum Trentwood. He retired from the machine shop in 1974.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Vera; a daughter, Vicki Ball of Coeur d’Alene; two sons, Jack Rojan of Greenacres and Mike Rojan of Spokane; a brother, Pat Rojan of Hope; two sisters, Janie VanStone of Hope and Marie Hauger of Fenn, Idaho; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Union Gospel Mission.

Battista `Johnny’ Angioi Spokane

Visitation for Battista “Johnny” Angioi, 80, will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Service is planned for 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Mr. Angioi, who was born in Sardegna, Italy, died Saturday.

He worked on his dad’s fishing boat and later on an Italian cruise ship.

He immigrated to Spokane via a World War II internment camp in Missoula.

Mr. Angioi worked as a chef at the American-Italian Club during the late 1940s and then at Luigi’s in the early 1950s.

He later worked in building maintenance for Pacific Northwest Bell for 28 years, retiring in 1980.

Survivors include his wife, Arbor; a daughter, Mary Jane Campbell; a son, Mickey Angioi; a brother, Michelino Angioi of Genoa, Italy; six grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren.

Thomas Taylor Priest River, Idaho

Service for Thomas Roy Taylor, 75, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Priest River. Burial will follow with military honors at the Evergreen Cemetery in Priest River.

Mr. Taylor, who was born in Fairfield, Idaho, died Thursday from injuries suffered in a tractor accident on Nov. 8.

He was drafted in the Marine Corps in 1943 and served in the Pacific Theater. He was discharged as corporal in 1946 and received a Purple Heart.

In 1950 he married Thelma Pederson.

Mr. Taylor worked as a high-rise building ironworker for Dix Corp. and Garco Construction. He retired in 1985.

He and his wife moved to Priest River in 1969.

Mr. Taylor was a member of Ironworkers Union Local 14.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Dennis Taylor of Marshall; two daughters, Diana Benda and Linda Reynolds, both of Priest River; a brother, David Taylor of Springdale, Wash.; two sisters, Francene Taylor of Tacoma and Rena Taylor of Montana; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Gertrude Wilson Pinehurst, Idaho

Private family graveside inurnment for Gertrude Ann Wilson, 91, will be held at a later date. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wilson, who was born in Mullan, Idaho, died Saturday.

She was a homemaker and longtime Silver Valley resident. She married George Wilson in 1930; he died in 1974.

Mrs. Wilson was active in gardening and was known for her sense of humor.

Survivors include a son-in-law Ret. Major General Hollis McCrea of Hampton, Va.; a sister, Irja Koskimaki of Meridian, Idaho; five grandchildren, Patrick, Ann Marie, Michael, Robert and Christopher; and three great-grandchildren.

Isabelle Storer Hayden, Idaho

Service for Isabelle Amanda Storer, 88, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home in Idaho Falls.Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel. is in charge of local arrangements.

Mrs. Storer, who was born in Lewisville, Idaho, died Sunday.

She grew up and attended school in Idaho Falls. She married Orville Storer in 1934, and they lived in Idaho Falls. He died in 1990.

She moved to Hayden in 1998.

Survivors include a daughter, Deanna Sorensen of Hayden Lake; a son, Don Storer of Fresno, Calif.; a sister, Florence Jones of Idaho Falls; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Angeline `Angie’ Franks Kellogg

Memorial service for Angeline “Angie” Franks, 90, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mountain Valley Care and Rehab center in Kellogg. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.

Miss Franks, who was born in Kellogg, died Nov. 8.

She was a lifelong Silver Valley resident and was a member of the Pythian Sisters.

She had an interest in animals, especially cats.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews throughout the United States.

Alta Mae Little Coeur d’Alene

No service will be held for Alta Mae Little, 72, at her request. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Little, who was born in Arkansas, died Saturday.

She married Ones Little in 1952 and worked as a secretary for radio station KWTO in Springfield, Mo., in the 1950s.

Mrs. Little also was a homemaker and mother. She moved to Coeur d’Alene six months ago from Missouri.

She was active as a carpenter and seamstress.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Leland Little, and a daughter, Carolyn Little, both of Coeur d’Alene; and two sisters, Thuryse Roberts of Missouri and Imogene Roush of Mississippi.

William Jenkins Spokane

Service for William Herbert Jenkins, 61, will be at 1 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be held Friday in Youngstown, Ohio.

Mr. Jenkins, who was born in Youngstown, died Friday.

He joined the Air Force in 1956 and served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired to Spokane in 1985 after 28 years of service as a master sergeant.

Mr. Jenkins was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and Metropolitan Baptist Church in Youngstown. He also was a 32nd Degree Mason.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Ethel of Youngstown; a son, Darrell Jenkins of Medical Lake; two daughters, April of Seattle and Darlene of Kirkland, Wash.; a brother, Thomas Jenkins of McDonald, Ohio; three sisters, Joeretha King-Lewis of Youngstown, Barbara Miller of Warren, Ohio, and Betty Diehl of Fort Meyers, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.

Ruth Kendall Spokane

Service for Ruth Kendall, 100, will be at 1 p.m. today at Shadle Park Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Miss Kendall, who was born in Ponca, Neb., died Saturday.

She was a 51-year Spokane resident.

Miss Kendall worked as a department manager for McGovern and Carroll Insurance Co. She worked for 40 years in the insurance industry.

After retiring she volunteered with the United Way, Eastern State Hospital and Shadle Park Presbyterian Church. She was a member of Shadle Park Presbyterian Church, Spokane Insurance Women’s Club and the National Association of Insurance Women.

There are no surviving family members.

Lillian (Poffenroth) Sanders Spokane

Service for Lillian (Poffenroth) Sanders, 89, was Monday at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial followed at Fairmount Memorial Park.

An 82-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Sanders died Thursday.

Born in Calgary, Alberta, she graduated in 1929 from Hillyard High School.

In 1933 she married John Sanders.

Mrs. Sanders worked as a secretary for area schools.

She was a member of the national, Washington and Spokane associations of education secretaries, and Our Savior and Salem Lutheran churches.

Her husband died in 1986.

Survivors include a son, David Sanders of Seattle; two daughters, Kathleen Zimmer of Medical Lake and Christine Back of Veradale; a sister, Florence Brown of Spokane; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Helen Sisk Mullan, Idaho

No service will be held for Helen C. Sisk, 85, at her request. Shoshone Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Sisk, who was born in Toppenish, Wash., died Nov. 9.

She grew up in Toppenish and graduated from high school there in 1930. She moved to the Silver Valley in 1935 and worked as a bookkeeper for the Day Mines before retiring.

Mrs. Sisk married Roland Sisk Sr. in 1942. He died in 1996.

She enjoyed her poodle, Lacey, and sewing and knitting.

Survivors include a son, Roland Sisk Jr. of Mullan; three grandchildren, Sandra, Karen and Mike; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Mullan Ambulance.

Ellen Hengy Spokane

Memorial service for Ellen Hengy, 71, will be at 5 p.m. Thursday at Rock of Ages Christian Fellowship. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A 29-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Hengy died Sunday. She was born in British Columbia.

She graduated from St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Spokane and worked as a registered nurse all over the world while her husband, Larry, was in the military. She worked at Deaconess Medical Center from 1971 to 1995 in labor and delivery and the newborn nursery.

She was a member of the Rock of Ages Christian Fellowship and Women’s Aglow Fellowship.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years; two daughters, Becky Jydstrup of Liberty Lake and Carla Blood of Fairfield; a son, Paul Hengy of Spokane; and seven grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rock of Ages Christian Fellowship.

Paul Ewing Spokane

Service for Paul David Ewing, a lifetime Spokane resident, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.

Mr. Ewing, 85 died Monday.

He graduated from Rogers High School in 1934 and Kinman Business College in 1936.

In 1940 he married Wanda Wilbert.

Mr. Ewing served in the Army during World War II and served in the Pacific Theater in Okinawa, Japan.

He worked as a coordinator of employee services for Washington Water Power for 38 years before retiring in 1977.

Mr. Ewing was a member of the Washington Water Power Trail Blazers, Trentwood Water Board and American Legion Post 9. He was the past president of the Visiting Nurses Association.

Survivors include his wife; a son James Ewing, and a daughter, Valerie Okert, both of Spokane; a brother, Jerry Ewing of Spokane; three sisters, Ora Belle Stolz and Harriet Brewer, both of Spokane, and Gladys Elmore of Vashon Island, Wash.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
