City expects to finish snowplowing today

With no significant snowfall in the immediate forecast, Spokane city officials predicted Saturday that plowing of city streets would be completed today. The city has been operating since Thursday under a stage 2 snow emergency, meaning plowing continues all hours and residents are asked to park on the even side of the street. City spokeswoman Marlene Feist wrote in a press release Saturday that “the berms left at the end of driveways would be heavy and difficult to move, especially as temperatures drop. Large ice chunks are likely.” The National Weather Service reported that light snow or rain is likely Tuesday night.
