Journey to the North Pole Cruise Through Jan. 4. The 40-minute cruise departs nightly from the North Pole Cruise Terminal at 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. Purchase tickets at cdacruises.com or by phone. Spokane Winter Glow Spectacular More than 25 lighted displays, featuring an Animal Light Zoo and wagon and carriage rides. Held through Wednesday; begins nightly at 5 p.m. Riverfront Park, 507 N. Howard St. Free.

Cross-Country Ski Lessons Ages 13 and older. Learn the basics of cross-country skiing skills at Mt. Spokane Selkirk Nordic Area, taught by PSIA certified cross-country ski instructors. Spend time with family and friends during the winter while getting great exercise outdoors. Includes: skis, boots, poles, ski area fees, instruction and transportation. Snowshoe Tour Mt. Spokane Ages 13 and older. Learn the basics of snowshoeing and try this fun winter sport. During the guided hike you will travel on snowshoe trails through the snow-covered trees and hills around Mt. Spokane. Depending on snow condition we will either be snowshoeing the Bald Knob or Smith Gap trails. Directions and information emailed after registration. New Year’s at Silver Mountain Ski, board and tube under the lights until 6 p.m. (tubing until 7 p.m.) and warm up in Silver Rapids with a balloon drop, lazy river duck race and a family New Year’s celebration.
