Police investigate possible shooting involving a school bus

The Coeur d’Alene Police Department is investigating whether a BB gun was used to shoot out the window of a school bus today as it drove down the street with students on board. The Coeur d’Alene School District bus was in the area of 11th Street and Garden Avenue shortly after 3 p.m. today when the incident occurred. A window near the middle of the bus was broken, but none of the 18 high school students or two middle school students on the bus were injured, according to a police department press release. The students were taken to Lakes Middle School, where they were loaded on a different bus and taken home. It appears that a BB or pellet gun may have caused the broken window, police said. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the police department at (208) 769-2320.
