Southwest Idaho deputies involved in shooting

Associated Press

MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho – Deputies in southwest Idaho have been involved in a shooting on Interstate 84 west of Hammett and the highway is closed in both directions.

The Elmore County Sheriff’s Office says no deputies were injured in the shooting that occurred at about 8:45 a.m. Tuesday.

The sheriff’s office didn’t say if anyone else was injured.

The highway is closed between Hammett and Mountain Home.

The sheriff’s office says it’s looking for two vehicles whose occupants might have witnessed the shooting.

One vehicle is described as a maroon colored car and the other a black or blue small- to medium-sized sport utility vehicle.
