Marcus Colbert helps Montana State rally past Idaho

BOZEMAN – Marcus Colbert scored 21 of his 23 points in the second half to rally Montana State to a 70-68 victory over Idaho on Saturday.

Colbert (Post Falls High) made 1 of 2 free throws with 7 seconds left for a 69-66 lead. A jump ball followed the miss and the ball stayed with the Bobcats (9-11, 4-4 Big Sky). Tyler Hall, who had 16 points, added a clinching free throw.

Colbert made three consecutive 3-pointers then two two-pointers to give Montana State a 47-44 lead with 10:35 left. Two 3-pointers by Hall and another by Sarp Gobeloglu made it 56-47.

Nick Blair had 12 of his career-high 16 points with four 3-pointers in the first half when Idaho (12-8, 4-3) led 43-33. Ty Egbert scored 15 of his career-high 18 points in the second half. Idaho was without its top two scorers, injured guards Perrion Callandret and Victor Sanders.

Montana State made 13 3-pointers, nine in the second half.
