Lentil fest wins awards

Last year’s 28th annual National Lentil Festival won six awards at the 2017 Washington Festivals and Events Association conference.

The festival took gold award for best programming, T-shirt design and public relations or media campaign.

Other awards were a silver in best promotional item for lentil chili recipe bookmark and two bronze awards for best printed material and multimedia.

The awards were given in Olympia on March 14.

About 18 percent of U.S. lentils are grown in the Palouse region. Since 1989, the National Lentil Festival has celebrated the little legume. On the web: http://www.lentilfest.com/.
