Twisp Fire Victims’ Names Aired

The three firefighters killed Wednesday in Twisp were Tom Zbyszewski, 20, Andrew Zajac, 26 and Richard Wheeler, 31.. All three were U.S. Forest Service firefighters. The three men were killed after a vehicle they were driving in crashed and was enveloped by flames. Another firefighter, Daniel Lyon, 25, was critically injured and is being treated at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He arrived at the hospital last night with burns to approximately 60 percent of his body, the hospital said in a statement. “We are mourning the loss of Tom, Andrew, and Richard and are in connection with and closely monitoring the recovery process of Daniel,” Mike Williams, Forest Supervisor on the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, said in a news release. “This was a tragic incident, and our hearts go out to their families, friends, and colleagues”/Rachel Alexander, SR.
